The Long and the Short of It
Reviews for Long and Short Romantic Fiction, One "Happy Ever After" at a Time
The Long and the Short of It is pleased to welcome Kathleen Grieve, author of “fun and sexy medical romance.” Kathleen’s debut novel, The Doctor’s Deception is available from The Wild Rose Press. She’s been an avid romance reader of all genres since she was thirteen and, in the summer of 2006, decided to turn her hand to writing her first novel. Taking the old adage to “write what you know” to heart, Kathleen’s books are in a medical profession setting—she has a good background for writing medical romance, because she works in a busy ICU as an RN.

Romance Junkies gives The Doctor's Deception 4 Blue Ribbons!!!
"...THE DOCTOR'S DECEPTION definitely does not read like a first book and I look forward to many future releases from Ms. Grieve. If you enjoy great romance with a medical setting, steamy passion, and a tortured hero that you'll find yourself rooting for, I highly recommend THE DOCTOR'S DECEPTION."

NIGHT OWL ROMANCE GIVES THE DOCTOR'S DECEPTION 5 OUT OF 5 HEARTS!!!!
"...I absolutely adored this story by Ms. Grieve. It was well written and extremely entertaining. She had me pulled in immediately when all the nurses were pulling their straws to see who the unlucky one was going to be who had to work with Dr. Lassiter. She kept me interested throughout the story by all the antics that Faith and Stone were doing to each other and I laughed out loud at some of the banter they exchanged with each other. The characters were extremely believable and the story was smooth flowing straight until the end. I would definitely recommend this medical romance story to others to read and I anxiously await more stories from Ms. Grieve. Fantastic job!"

Heart Surgeon Stone Lassiter has successfully transplanted beating hearts. It's his own that is causing him the most agony. With a death bed promise to his fiancée, he's driven to open a transplant center in her hometown, and arrives at Deerborne County General Hospital. Single minded in his focus, he inadvertently alienates the nursing staff he needs to make his dream a success. He sets his stethoscope on intensive care nurse, Faith Daniels, to improve his image.
Nurse of the Year, Faith Daniels has passed every nursing exam, but when faced with the task of the MCAT, she has severe test anxiety. Burned by her ex-husband, who used her while she put him through law school, she has become focused on passing that darn exam, and achieving her own dream to become a doctor in her own right.
